USA: Fears of Russian provocation in undersea internet cables





The presence of Russian submarines and spy ships near undersea cables through which the communication of the global Internet has raised concerns with US officials that Russia may be planning to cut the wires on a collision times, according to the newspaper New York Times.

The Times said that there is no proof cutting the cable, but the concern reflects the growing mistrust of the Americans and their allies to the increasing military action by Russia world.

Senior officers of the Navy and the US intelligence services reportedly told the newspaper that watched the significantly increased activity of the Russians along the known routes of cables, from the North Sea to the North-East Asia and in waters close to the United States.

He added that the cables carrying more than 10 trillion dollars in global companies every day and more than 95% of daily communications.
