Fico: Threatening Muslims living in Slovakia
The Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico suggested Tuesday the Muslim in his country as a potential threat and added that his government 'following' this community after the attacks in Paris.
Slovak government officials, as well as Poles, weekend openly expressed their opposition to EU projects their countries to host thousands of refugees seeking asylum in Europe, many of whom are Muslims, claiming that violence in Paris documenting the concerns already expressed.
The Fico, who will claim the re-election to the throne of the Slovak Prime Minister in March showdown, had opposed the European Commission's plan for redistributing refugees on the basis of a quota system from scratch.
"With the exception of the mass killer's (pp Anders Behring) Braivik in Norway, almost every time, which has become a terrorist attack Muslims were responsible, so if you have those in Slovakia, under the law is our duty to verify whether contacts are suspicious persons, "Fico told reporters.
"Whoever wants to become a human rights activist, to go to any event on human rights. Here we talk about safety, "continued Fico, who made these comments at the embassy of France in Bratislava, where earlier observed a minute's silence for the victims of attacks in Paris.
Asked in a television interview later what measures namely government, the Fico said: "watch every Muslim in our country, we have intensified surveillance in every refugee camp and detention camp, as well as the monitoring of right-wing extremists."
The Social Democrat Fico was heavily criticized earlier this year because of his statement that the government would prefer to welcome Christians refugees, based on European designs for their redistribution.
In Slovakia there are about 5,000 Muslims - in total 5.4 million population - but Islam is not a religion recognized by the state and the country did not officially mosques.
The Islamic Foundation in Slovakia Fico criticized him for discriminatory treatment of Muslims and their characterization as a threat.
Prime Minister Fico 'did not say that monitored every radical or extremist, "said representative of the institution. "Instead implied that some citizens without any court judgment or allegation by the police, a threat simply because of their religion."
