Italy: The third of municipal employees absent without excuse
Thirty-five people were arrested and one hundred ninety-five sent call to account for unjustified absences from the offices of the municipality of Sanremo, near Genoa.
The investigation began three years ago, on the initiative of the city prosecutor Imperia. Colleagues of "absent without cause" knocking on a permanent basis, card in place. Cameras closed circuit placed the carabinieri, show officials to hold in hand and hit even four different municipal employee cards.
In an extreme case, even a police officer knocks card only wearing tracksuit jacket and briefs, while at other times, as indicated by the closed circuit cameras, the obligation assumed his wife.
According to the newspaper Korriere Della Sera, the whole research involved a third of the employees of the municipality of Sanremo, famous for its annual festival of Italian song.
Some of the workers, the working hours did not hesitate to go for sports with canoes, and comment, then, its performance, with posts on social media. Then, allegedly managed to made them even overtime, despite their continuous absences.
