Bilal, the eldest son of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose name was included in those of large corruption scandal fundamentals suspects unveiled in December 2012, he moved with his wife and children to Italy to complete a doctorate, writes today the Turkish press.
"I'm in Italy temporarily to finish my doctoral thesis," he told news agency East, denying categorically that "fled" the eve of the early parliamentary elections on November 1 as pithanalogoun opposition media.
The Cumhuriyet newspaper reveals that Bilal Erdogan reportedly made the decision to leave the country and enrolled in Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Bologna where he started his studies in 2007.
He left after the last parliamentary elections last June, where the AKP --The Islamo-conservative Justice and Development Party whose father headed up before he became president in 2014-- lost the absolute majority it had since 2002.
