The Facebook founder calls on the international community to "stay connected"

O founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zoukermpergk, who was criticized during the campaign in the US, today appealed to world leaders participating in the summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) help to connect more users the Internet saying that this would help reduce income inequality and improve the quality of life of hundreds of millions of people on the planet.

Facebook has received strong criticism in the US in recent days for failing to remove false and biased news, which according to some might have influenced the outcome of elections.

In a statement that has hung the Zoukermpergk after arriving in Lima today, he says that his company is working to address the "relatively small" volume, as described in, misinformation on Facebook in several ways, including the easiest identification inaccuracies and report them.

The Zoukermpergk asked participants to sign a "Declaration of connectivity" and to commit to work with companies like his own to create the infrastructure that will enable more people to access the Internet.
