Hungary: "Policy" the opinion on the rejection of appeals against the forced relocation of asylum seekers

The Hungarian government described as "political" the opinion of the Advocate-General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which proposed to dismiss both Slovakia's and Hungary's appeals against the temporary mechanism of mandatory relocation of asylum-seekers.

"The main elements of the opinion are political, which are basically used to conceal the fact that there are no legal arguments," said Pal Voerner, the Hungarian State Secretary for Justice, according to the state-run news agency MTI.

Earlier today, Advocate General Advocate General Bot rejected the arguments presented by Bratislava and Budapest, according to which mandatory quotas were illegal.

The final decision of the Court of Justice on the issue is expected to be announced after resuming its work after the summer vacation.
