Seismic vibration 5.2 Richter near Rhodes

A seismic vibration of 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred at 7 and 49 this evening and became particularly noticeable on the island of Rhodes.

According to the Geodetic Institute of the Athens Observatory, the epicenter is located in the south-eastern sea area of ​​the city of Rhodes (43 kilometers southeast of Halki).

G. Houliaras, research director of the Geodynamic Institute, told ANA-MPA that the focal depth is estimated at 79 km and that is why the earthquake was felt at a long distance.

Losses have not been reported so far.
