The Argentines are invited to choose their future today between a liberal president of Maurizio away, and a moderate Peronist, Daniel Siolas. This is an historic election that puts an end to 12 years of government by Nestor and Cristina Kirchner.

The pollsters showed the Siolas, which belongs to the center-left party of outgoing President Kirchner as a big favorite before the conduct of the first round of presidential elections. But now they give a clear lead in Siolas, the center-right is the mayor of Buenos Aires since 2007 and former president of football club Boca Juniors.

The polls for the second round of presidential elections will open at 08:00 (local time, 13:00 GMT) and will close at 18:00 (23:00 GMT). The first results are expected at 20:00 (2:00 am Monday GMT).
It is the first time in 40 years that Argentina second round of the presidential elections takes place.

Maurizio away, the candidate preferred by markets, were surprised in the first round of elections on 25 October.
