Syria ready to cooperate with the US in combating terrorism
Syria is willing to participate in an international coalition against terrorism, but only if the United States cooperate with Damascus in a way that has not happened so far, the Syrian ambassador to the UN said today, Bashar Jafar.
"The Western coalition (under US leadership) did not succeed in Syria because it cooperated with the regime. Russia succeeded because they worked with us, "said Jafar in an interview with television network based in Lebanon al-Mayadeen.
"We are open to the creation of an international coalition against terrorism, but in cooperation with the Syrian government. We have no objection to working with the US, provided the cooperation is to be coordinated with Syria, "added the Syrian ambassador.
