EU: Turkey must respect democracy and fundamental rights, the head of European diplomacy Mogkerini said
The Turkish authorities must respect the constitutional and fundamental rights in response give the failed coup, the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogkerini said today.
"We fully respect the constitutional order and we as EU stress the importance of having the predominance of the rule of law in the country," said Mogkerini at a press conference given after the meeting of EU foreign ministers with US their counterpart John Kerry in Brussels.
"We share the concerns about what is happening in the country during this time. We have to respect, to make Turkey to respect democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms", noted the head of EU diplomacy.
