Drop by 12 percentage points the popularity of Merkel, according to poll
The popularity of Angela Merkel declined by 12 percentage points, according to a survey conducted after the attacks in Germany, showing that nearly two thirds of Germans do not support the refugee policy.
The poll on behalf of ARD network shows that support for the person of Chancellor fell by 12% compared with July, to 47%. It is the second worst performance of Angela Merkel's re-election in 2013. In April last year, and before the refugee crisis, her popularity was at 75%.
At the same time, the popularity of Prime Minister of Bavaria Horst Zeechofer, of vehement critics of the refugee policy of open doors and an advocate of restrictions on migration to enhance safety, jumped by 11 percentage points to 44%.
