Europe fosters terrorism, says Erdogan


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Europe today that fosters terrorism, with its support for the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and stressed that he does not care if the Europeans would call him a dictator because suppressing Kurdish separatist organization and of sympathizers.

"Europe as a whole, fosters terrorism. Although characterized the PKK terrorist organization, it is clear ... We see how the PKK acts so freely and comfortably in Europe," said the Turkish president in a speech broadcast on television. All weapons that have been seized by the PKK members coming from the West, he argued.

"I do not care if you say dictator or anything else. From one ear will get, another will come. What is important is how to call my people," he added.

Turkey has received fierce criticism from around the world to mark the arrests of pro-Kurdish HDP party leaders on Friday for allegedly supporting terrorism. Erdogan said in this speech that the parliamentarians who behave like terrorists will be treated as such. The judiciary is independent and no one, not even himself, has no right to intervene, he added.

Erdogan also said that the European Union has pledged assistance to Turkey of EUR 3 billion for hosting Syrian refugees, but so far has given Ankara only 200-300 million. Referring to the Turkish military operations in Syria, he said that the forces supported by Ankara aimed to push the jihadists of the Islamic State in the south of Al Bab today are about 12 to 13 kilometers from that city.
