Dozens of wounded in fire broke out in a refugee center in Germany

At least 37 people were injured in a fire that broke out Sunday morning in a center housing refugees in Bremen in northern Germany, according to police sources. Among the injured are ten children.

The fire started from a rubbish bin in the basement of the building, where more than 100 immigrants reside, a spokesman for the police said. The causes of the fire remain unknown and are under investigation according to the same source. Among the scenarios examined by the police are arson by someone with anti-immigration motives.

The Bremen Fire Department announced that 14 of the injured, including 10 children, were taken to hospital, while others received first aid on the spot.

The influx of about 1 million migrants in the country over the past two years has caused a violent explosion by right-wing groups.
