Australia: Lose dual citizenship who are involved in terrorism
Australia US ally in the war on terrorism, but also in the military operations taking place in Syria and Iraq, announced today that it removes the double citizenship from those convicted of crimes related to terrorism.
French President Francois Hollande gave last month plans announced for removal of French citizenship from those convicted of terrorist offenses. This announcement was made a few days after the terrorist attacks of November in Paris that killed 130 people, according to the Athens Press Agency.
The Australian citizens who have dual citizenship and have been involved in terrorist acts, are members of banned organizations by law or convicted of an offense related to terrorism, will lose their Australian citizenship says Australian Immigration Minister Peter Dutton.
"There is a significant price to pay those involved in acts of terrorism and have dual citizenship," the minister stressed.
