Berlin: Tax measures for companies that interact with tax havens

Germany is considering to withdraw the tax relief for those companies interact with tax havens abroad, he said yesterday in a publication of the German magazine Der Spiegel.

After the publication of "Panama documents», (Panama Papers), the major survey on tax havens revealed last week, Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble, according to the report, told his staff to draw up proposals on ways the government may punish financially businesses that offshore companies in tax havens.

As noted, one proposal is to reduce tax incentives for these companies, the ministry hopes that in this way the companies will intensify the pressure on the rulers of countries abroad to change their tax policy.

A finance ministry spokesman refused to comment on the report, but said that Berlin is working on an action plan that will lead to more transparency.

As he added, Schaeuble will present the details of this plan at the meeting of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, to be held next week in Washington.
