Russia celebrates Victory Day over Nazi Germany
Russia celebrated with pomp today the 71th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Hitler's Germany in the Second World War with military parade in Moscow, in a celebration that unites Russians beyond their political divisions and praise Russian greatness.
Nearly 10,000 troops, 135 tanks and nuclear anti-missile systems marched on the cobblestone streets of Red Square before the President Vladimir Putin, senior officials and minimum now veterans of the war, while 71 military aircraft, between the fighter Su-35 used in Syria, flew in the sky.
"The Russian soldiers have proved to be worthy successors of great patriots, heroes of the war, defending the interests of the country with honor," said Vladimir Putin during celebrations of Victory Day May 9 in Moscow. "I am sure that veterans are today proud of his grandchildren and their great grandchildren not disappoint you and to always remember the great victory, the feat of the glorious generation of winners," Mr Putin congratulating the country for the 1945 victory which exalted patriotism of the Russians.
The strong man of the Kremlin took the opportunity to call on the international community to unite in the fight against terrorism. "Today, culture is confronted with the brutality and violence. Terrorism has become a global threat and we have to defeat this evil. Russia is ready to join efforts with other states ready to work to create a modern international security system and unfettered, "said before the soldiers.
