FAZ: The Atlantic Alliance will remain at Sea for the control of traffickers refugees and immigrants

Although Turkey insists on ending the NATO mission in the Aegean, NATO itself is preparing for the continued presence there of to prevent traffickers to send clandestine refugees in Europe and Germany even sent in mid-December a frigate, which will replace the Dutch in the leadership of the naval unit, as revealed in today's publication of the Sunday Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, which relies on NATO sources in Brussels and the German Defense Ministry.

The Turkish Defense Ministry called in late October to end the mission and the same has been sought and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, however, "the German frigate 'Sachsen' will call in mid-December in the Mediterranean and is preparing to take over the leadership of the unit, in order to continue the activity of the alliance in the Aegean "said spokesman of the German Defence Ministry in the German newspaper. This ship will replace the Dutch frigate, as provided by the Alliance regulation provides for the rotation taking the leadership.

As said the German admiral Kai-Achim Senmpach the Sunday edition of the FAZ, "our task is clear: to observe and report. Cooperation with the Turkish and Greek authorities as well as with Frontex is to prevent traffickers and stop the migration. "

"This decision is important because, according to the forecast for the rotating taking the leadership of the mission in the Aegean should take over Turkey, but this has been ruled --opos indeed a Greek leadership apostolis-- from the agreement made in February and there were fears that Ankara would use this provision as an argument to stop sending "writes the Frankfurter Allgemeine.
