Turkey: One dead and 47 injured by an explosion in Diyarbakir Province

One soldier was killed and 47 other people were injured when a car bomb exploded in front of a military outpost in southeastern Turkey, where the majority of inhabitants are Kurds, said today military source.

This attack late yesterday, the responsibility for which give the authorities in Kurdistan (PKK Labour Party), was aimed at an advanced outpost in Hanin sector, in Diyarbakir province.

One soldier was killed and 47 wounded include eight civilians, this source stated, adding that the army began sweeping company after new deadly attack.

Turkey lives for many months on alert due to the wave of attacks linked to the Kurdish conflict or attributed to jihadist organization Islamic State (IK).

In February and March, two attacks with car bombs caused, respectively, killed 29 and 35 people and wounding dozens of others, in the center of Ankara. Responsibility for the attacks took a radical organization that has broken away from the PKK, the Falcons for the Liberation of Kurdistan (TAK).

Ankara launched a major operation against the PKK after the collapse last summer, a truce that lasted for two years in a rebellion that erupted in 1984 and has already caused more than 40,000 deaths.
