The abuse, torture, poor and ill-treatment and any act of violence against animals is unjust acts that are prosecuted in degree misdemeanor and is punishable by imprisonment and a fine, according to Law. 1197/1981, as amended by N. 4039/2012 and in force today.
Every citizen who understands some of those operations has the opportunity to denounce the incident to the police station in the area, the Veterinary Service of the competent Prefecture, as well as to the relevant Prosecutor's Office
