The US and allies are calling on Russia to stop its air operations
The United States along with France, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Britain today called on Russia to stop its air attacks - as maintained by the forces of the Western coalition - directed against forces of the Syrian opposition and affecting the civilian population, while expressing "deep concern" for the strengthening of Russian military forces in Syria.
In a joint statement the coalition forces criticized the Russian air raids, which as stressed not set as their objective the jihadist Islamic State.
"These military operations are a further escalation and it will only bring the feed extremism and radicalization" is underlined in the communication.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Russian Air Force (HAF) conducted 14 air strikes against positions of the Islamic State, as reported the Russian news agency eidiseonSputnik.
"During the day the Russian PA continued air strikes on the Islamic State forces positions in Syria", especially in Idlib and Hama provinces, said an announcement by the ministry spokesman, Major Igor Konasenkof.
According to the official, Russian military aircraft Su-24M type and Su-25 destroyed a headquarters of the Islamic State in Idlib province.
