Albania: 2000 Iranian mujahideen expected to settle in Tirana



One day prior to arrival in Tirana of US Foreign Minister John Kerry, Albanian media reports that one of the main issues on the agenda of the talks with the Albanian leadership is the issue of receiving thousands of Iranian mujahideen.

Approximately 2,000 members of the opposition organization "Mujahideen-e-Khalq" is expected to arrive in Albania, as the Albanian government has reached an agreement with the Americans.

Initially, in May 2013 the then government Berisha took accommodating about 210 mujahedeen, while Prime Minister Edi Rama agreed to welcome 2,000 others, of about 2,800 located in "Freedom" in Iraq camp.

Stis plenary parliament Prime Minister Edi Rama said the opposition has given his consent to this.
