Israel: Removed three MPs the right to participate in plenary
Suspended today the participation of three Israeli Arab parliamentarians in most from the work of parliament, after the outcry caused a meeting with members of the Palestinian families who allegedly committed attacks on Israeli civilians, spokesman of the Knesset, Israel's parliament.
The parliamentary ethics committee of the Knesset decided to remove from Hanin Zoampi and Bussell Cat for four months and by Jamal Zachalka for two months the right to participate in plenary debates and the work of various committees of the House, told AFP spokesman Knesset .
The three MPs, members of the Unified Arab Ticket - the third strongest party Knesset - can nevertheless participate in polls and enter the central hall of the Parliament building, he explained.
This decision followed the recent visit of three Israeli Arab parliamentarians on perpetrators families anti-Israeli attacks, which caused angry reactions from the government, politicians and public opinion in Israel.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu railed strongly against them today in the Knesset, while one of the deputies reacted by launching insults against him.
"We will not tolerate a situation in which members of Knesset support Israeli assassins families or standing attention to the memory of those who murdered our children," said the Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I try to imagine what would happen to the British parliament if MPs stood attention to honor the memory of John jihad, or if the US Congress (do the same) in memory of the California killer" added the Israeli prime minister.
The Jamal Zachalka reacted calling Netanyahu "a liar, a fascist, a promoter."
The Benjamin Netanyahu also announced yesterday that the government will draw up a law that would allow the removal of the seats of Members of Knesset members who demonstrate "indecent behavior".
The three MPs had met last week with representatives of their alleged perpetrators of attacks as well as representatives of a support organization for the families to recover the bodies of persons killed by Israeli forces.
