The great Chinese amphibious aircraft AG600 will make in May its maiden flight from the city Tzouchai South China, according to China Aviation Industry (Aviation Industry Corp. of China, AVIC).
The AG600, which was designed as the largest amphibious aircraft in the world, will perform extensive testing before its maiden flight over land in late May and the sea in the second half of 2017, the AVIC announced.
To 37 m length AC600, with flaps range 38.8 meters, it has a maximum possible weight 53.5 tons for takeoff. It can collect 12 tons of water at 20 seconds and transferring to 370 tons of water with a single fuel filling.
With excellent maneuverability and a relatively wide range of research, the aircraft will be very useful for the exploitation of marine resources, marine environment monitoring, discovery and transfer funds.
