Shi Jinping will "defend" the deal on climate change with Em. Long

Chinese President Shi Jingping pledged today, in a telephone conversation with Emmanuel Makron, to "defend" the Paris climate agreement on the side of the next French president, according to Chinese public television.

This call was made while the delegations of 196 countries are continuing today in Bonn talks on the implementation of the agreement signed in December 2015 aimed at tackling global warming.

At the same time, a critical meeting to be held today at the White House was postponed. US President Donald Trump was to discuss with his main financial advisors on the US participation in this agreement signed in December 2015 and from which he plans to withdraw.

China and France "have to maintain their communication and coordination on international and regional issues (...) and to defend the achievements of global governance, including the Paris climate agreement", underlined Shi Jinping according to China's state-owned CCTV television network.
Si and Makron also agreed to "meet as soon as possible", according to the same source.
