The PT. Erdogan and E. Makron agreed to meet during a telephone conversation


Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan telephoned today elected French President Emmanuel Makron and congratulated him on his victory in the presidential elections on May 7th, became known by sources adjacent to the Turkish presidency.

In a statement issued, these sources state that the head of the Turkish state told the new president of France that the results of the electoral campaign strengthen the hope for the future of the European Union.

The two leaders agreed to meet at the NATO Summit in Brussels later this month, according to the same sources.

Erdogan and Makron also highlighted their determination to improve Turkish-French relations and discussed how important it is to overcome recent issues that have arisen between Ankara and the EU, sources said.
