Exit ban by Turkey imposed in approximately 100 Dutch citizens of Turkish origin

ban on leaving Turkey imposed on approximately 100 Dutch citizens of Turkish origin, as reported today the television network of the Netherlands NOS, citing sources with knowledge of the situation.

The television network said that those affected by the measure, many of whom were on holiday in Turkey or to visit their families, had publicly criticized the President Retzep Tagip Erntogan, whose government has unleashed repression against the opposition, after the attempted coup of July.

It was not made clear if these citizens affected by the ban on dual citizenship; Turkish and Dutch.

The Dutch Foreign Ministry was not immediately available for comment.
