Approved by the German Federal Parliament the draft law on espionage against the country's allies

A draft law which allows the country's intelligence service (Bundesnachrichtendienst, or BND) to conduct espionage operations against the EU institutions and EU member-States Federal Parliament of Germany adopted today.

The bill approved today includes a range of measures to improve control of the BND action after revelations which proceeded the informatics Edward Snowden, a former adviser to the National Security Agency (National Security Agency, NSA) of the USA.

An independent judicial body will be updated when the BND will proceed in espionage operations against German allies. These judges will also have the right to make unannounced inspections.

The Bundestag under the bill would also see greater oversight role in the BND, and the heads of the German information services will be required to appear once a year at least to the federal parliament.

Critics of the bill provisions that indicate that rather than curb the questionable activities of the BND, in fact ensure legal cover.

Frankfurt is an important telecommunications hub that serves many foreign companies, governments and individuals.

According to the German government, the BND interception is necessary to identify extremists who intend to commit attacks on the territory of Germany or Europe.

"How do we want to identify individuals suspected of terrorism? How to treat if not by these means? "Was the rhetorical question posed by the slanted Biningker, MP of Christian Democratic Union (CDU) under Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The amendment of the legislation in Germany has alarmed part of public opinion gives particular attention to the protection of privacy, and yet the memories of the action of the Nazi Gestapo and the Stasi, the East German internal security service have not been extinguished.

The new law opens a window for the BND to spy; "Random"; and German citizens. The Greens have threatened to appeal to the Federal Supreme Court and the EU court to cancel.

"Our Constitution, laws on fundamental and human rights are not an obstacle to the fight against terrorism," said Greens MP Konstantin von Notts.

The MPs Martina Renner party The Left (Die Linke) found that the filters used by the BND can not be considered reliable, and make no distinction posts of foreign and German.
