The British government approved the construction of nuclear power plant Hinckley Point

The British government today gave the green light for the construction of nuclear power plant Hinkley Point C in southwestern England, a controversial project amounting to 18 billion pounds (24 billion. US dollars) from the French company EDF and with the support of a Chinese company.

"We decided to build the first nuclear power plant for a generation," explained Minister of Enterprise, Energy and Industrial Strategy Greg Clark stating that additional measures in the original design of the project will allow "to improve safety."

The Government of Teresa Mei approved the construction project but notice states that imposed new conditions to enable it to intervene in the sale of EDF's share control both before and just started to operate the plant.

After Hinckley, the British government could also have a special rate to all future nuclear programs, which will ensure that there will be sold significant shares without the government is aware or consents, the communication stresses.
