Israeli armed forces announced today that they have broken a "target" over the occupied Golan Heights, a few hours after Syria accused Israel of bombing a military post near Damascus airport.
"The Patriot Air Defense System inhibited a goal over the Golan Heights," the Israeli army said in a Twitter post on the Twitter social network without giving more details.
Israeli media reported that this "target" was an unmanned, remote-controlled aircraft, but a representative of the Israeli armed forces refused to comment on the information.
Syrian government news agency SANA reported earlier that many Israeli missiles hit a military post southwest of Damascus International Airport, while the Syrian Human Rights Watch reported that an arms depot, which according to its information belonged to the Hizbullah Armed Forces of Lebanon, was blown up Near the airport.
Israeli intelligence minister Katsh said that this blow is "consistent" with Israeli policy, but without confirming or denying that his country has gone ahead with it.
