Syria: Rebels discuss with Turkey a ceasefire proposal but Russia puts prerequisites

The main rebel organizations in Syria are discussing with Turkey the proposal for a comprehensive ceasefire which has been in negotiation with Russia, but reject Moscow's request not included in the agreement, their stronghold near the capital Damascus, a senior member of the Syrian reported today opposition.

The Munir al Sagial, the head of the political wing of the organization Achrar al Sam, said it is premature to talk about an agreement reaching possibilities. "Discussions are continuing under the auspices of Turkey, but the Russian enemy tries to exclude East Gouta (en suburb of Damascus) from the effort to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire" which would accept the rebels said.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry earlier said that Ankara and Moscow have prepared a ceasefire agreement.

"To separate the areas freed wholly rejected, and all parties agree that the exclusion of an area is a betrayal of the revolution," he Sagial.

According to him, Russia has not proposed anything so far while Turkey, which initiated a peace agreement, has not set any conditions to the rebels. "It's premature to talk about chances of success. The Russian enemy has no clear position and repeating the regime demands," he said.
