A visit with emphasis on Greek-French relations will be that of French President Francois Hollande in Athens on Thursday, 22 and Friday, October 23. The visit of French President to Athens at the invitation of the President of the Republic, characterized by government sources "particularly important on many levels." French President recently made a public statement supporting the Greek program and the issue of the renegotiation of debt.
This statement, as stated government sources, was a joint appearance of Fr.. Hollande to zag. Merkel in the European Parliament and that of course has its importance. In this climate, particular emphasis is also that French President will be accompanied by multi-echelon government, entrepreneurs and people of culture, indicating that France is seeking to upgrade its relationship with Greece at a level of strategic cooperation. This is highly appreciated positively by the Greek government, which is preparing accordingly.
President Hollande will arrive in Athens Thursday, October 22 and is due to have dinner with the President of the Greek Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos. On Friday, October 23 the French president will meet with the prime minister, Alexis Tsipras and will address the Greek Parliament.
