Turkey: expelled high-ranking police officers, after deadly attack

Turkey's Interior Ministry said it expelled high-ranking police officials in the capital Ankara in the wake of the double suicide attack that occurred Saturday in the city killing 97 people. In a statement issued late yesterday evening, the ministry says police chief of Kadri Kartal capital and the head of security and intelligence of the body relieved from their duties in order to conduct a thorough investigation into the bloodiest terrorist attack in modern history.

Today Wednesday, the President of the country Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the site of the double attack to pay tribute to the memory of the victims. Erdogan laid a wreath in front of the main train station of the city together with his Finnish counterpart Saul Niinisto.
