USA: Taking responsibility for invading tanks to the hospital in Kunduz

After "taking responsibility" for the shelling of the hospital of Doctors Without Borders in Kunduz, Afghanistan, Washington admitted that Americans aboard the tank which threw the gate of the hospital.

In response to the complaint of the organization Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres, MSF) that the armored tank broke into the hospital, causing damages and mental anguish and probably destroyed and evidence, the spokesperson of the US Department of Defense Geoff Davis said:

"This crawler Afghan who on October 15 carrying Americans and NATO experts with the task to consider the structural integrity of the building after the bombing during the US invasion of October 3rd."

The representative of the Pentagon added that "mistakenly violated the gate as they thought that the hospital was evacuated."

MSF officials characterized the bombing war crime and called for an independent investigation into the American air raid that lasted an hour and brought death at least 22 people, staff and patients, including children.

The US military has claimed responsibility for the airstrike, saying there was "conducted while fierce fighting between Afghan forces and Taliban Islamists, who had occupied briefly the Kunduz, the biggest victory in 14 years of war."
