Syria: 600 dead by Russian raids
The air strikes carried out by Russia on 30 September, when started the Russian military intervention in Syria, have caused nearly 600 deaths, most of them members of armed organizations, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The strikes set a target ten of the 14 provinces of Syria, in addition to Tartus (west) and Swain (south) that are controlled by the regime, the Chasake (northeast) that is under the control of Kurdish forces and the army and Quneitra Governorate, on the plateau of the Golan (South), within the limits of the cease-fire line with Israel.
The Observatory recorded 595 deaths until October 29, of whom 279 moderate rebels and Islamic militants linked to the Front al Nosra, the Syrian wing of al-Qaeda, 131 jihadist organization Islamic State (IK) and 185 civilians, including 46 women and 48 children.
According to the Observatory, "the majority of raids mainly targeted their (modest) rebels, the Islamist organizations and the Front al-Nosra, and areas under the control of IK."
Regarding the stock of raids carried out by the coalition led by the United States since the September 23, 2014 until October 23, 2015, the Observatory recorded 3,649 deaths, of which 3.276 were members of IK, 147 Front Al-Nosra and other Islamist organizations. Also recorded 226 civilian deaths, ie. 6% of victims, of whom 65 were children and 40 women.
The Russian incursions allowed the army to recover three villages in the province of Hama (center), six villages, farms and hills in south Aleppo and take control of most hills of Gympie Achmar in the province of Latakia (west), except higher remaining in the hands of rebels.
At the same time, the IK captured significant portions of a vital for the road system linking the Homs to Aleppo.
